Faces of Dementia

An exhibition at Sefton Park Palm House 13.5.24-16.5.24

The images were taken over a period of 12 months from April 2023 at Sedgemoor Dementia Hub in Liverpool. I went to Sedgemoor at least once per week. Only when I had the trust and confidence of the group did I start taking photos. This began after the fourth week.

Technically it was challenging at times because there was no control over lighting, background and posing. A selection of the images is below.

As the number of images grew the group were shown a slideshow created in Lightroom. Jimmy asked when he saw his portrait ‘ is that me is that what I really look like?”
